MOL 635 - Art and Practice of Organizational Leadership

Most organizations come into existence to fulfill a mission. However, over a period of time many organizations begin to feel stuck. The formal structures and processes that once moved the organization forward now appear to hold it back. Leaders often feel ill-equipped to handle the complexity of issues that are impacting organizational performance. As a consequence, the presence and function of informal structures and processes are often ignored or unknown. This foundational course will examine the formal and informal structures and processes that are often present in organizations and explore methods for redesigning them so that they are both healthy and productive.
