HIS 342 - History of Africa


A course examining the history of Africa from the dawn of humanity to the present. Political, economic, social, cultural, religious, and military developments are included. Particular attention is paid to major issues like the Bantu Migration, the rise and spread of Christianity and Islam, the growth of west African empires, the slave trade, colonization, and the rise of independent states. Either semester.
