Education electives can be used toward add-on PA Special Education certification (PK-8 or 7-12). All courses below must be taken for the add-on certification, which may be added only to a current PA Instructional I Certificate.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

• TSL 621 - Introduction to Second Language Acquisition Credits: 3
• TSL 631 - Language Fundamentals for TESOL Credits: 3
• TSL 632 - TESOL Methods and Materials Credits: 3

Teacher Certification

Coursework needed for PA or ACSI instructional certificates will be determined on an individual basis, depending on previous college work. Certification is separate from the MS in Education degree, but may be completed simultaneously.

• Elementary/Middle Level 4-8 (PA/ACSI)
• Preschool-Kindergarten (ACSI only)
• PK-12 Health/Physical Education (PA/ACSI)

• K-12 Bible (ACSI only)
• Secondary Education:
  • Social Studies/History minor (PA/ACSI)
  • Mathematics (PA/ACSI)
  • English (PA/ACSI)
  • Bible and History (ACSI only)
