Message from the Provost

Todd Williams

Choosing a university is an important decision and a challenging task these days. You have literally hundreds of options. Yet not all colleges and universities are the same. Every college or university will grant a degree of course. But is that enough? In today’s marketplace, the need is great and opportunities abound for men and women of purpose and integrity who are prepared well and stand ready to make a difference; men and women who have a knowledge of God, themselves, and the world in which they live; men and women of conviction who are committed to the truths of the Bible and order their lives accordingly. For those of you seeking something different, something that will require much and deliver more, Philadelphia Biblical University is the place.

Studying here is to embark on an educational journey that will inspire and challenge both the mind and heart. You will be challenged with regard to your personal, intellectual, professional, and spiritual development by a faculty and staff that is deeply committed to Christ and the mission and vision of the University. You will be inspired by that same faculty and staff to study and to live to the glory of God.

While there are several different graduate programs offered at PBU, we believe that all learning begins with and is held together by biblical learning. The study of the Bible then is central to all academic endeavors at PBU and is integrated throughout the curriculum. Additionally, because we believe that all truth is God’s truth, we expect our students to become learned persons who seek knowledge and wisdom with rigor and enthusiasm. Finally, because possessing this kind of knowledge and wisdom requires the application of it in tangible service, PBU purposes to educate you professionally and make you ready for whatever vocational opportunities the Lord provides.

Today, as they have since 1913, graduates from this institution are making a contribution around the world by taking their places in the church and society as well educated, biblically minded, and professionally competent servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the truest measure of our success. The lives of those who have studied here testify to the fulfillment of a vision for providing a distinctly and thoroughly biblical education that prepares men and women to make a difference. I invite you to explore the pages of the catalog and see what it is that sets PBU, and those who study here, apart from the rest.

Sincerely,

Todd J. Williams, Ph.D.
Sr. Vice President and Provost
