TSL 401 - Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in the Classroom

A course that examines issues related to the teaching of English Language Learners in the PK-12 classroom. Topics covered include crosscultural awareness, ELL-sensitive content teaching, government policies, ESL/bilingual program models, TESOL and Pennsylvania PK-12 English Language Proficiency Standards, collaboration of mainstream and ESL teachers, standardized testing, special needs assessment, student and family advocacy, and school and community services. Both semesters and summer.

Current clearances required.
