MUS 481 - Teaching Music in the Elementary School


A course designed to increase understanding of the theories, methods, strategies, materials, and philosophies of teaching music in elementary schools. The course addresses planning and presenting cognitive, psychomotor, and affective music learning experiences in the classroom and rehearsal settings. Particular attention is given to identifying and addressing student needs through individualized curriculum adaptation and differentiated experiences for the exceptional student. Curriculum development/evaluation and in-class teaching are included. Fifteen hour lab required. First semester.

MUS 487. Current clearances required.
