EDU 212 - Instructional Design for Secondary Programs


An introductory course in which students examine and apply an overall approach to instructional design at the Secondary level, primarily based on the Cognitive Interactionist lesson planning model. Emphasis is given to developmental characteristics of secondary-level students, current learning theories, creating lesson objectives based on PA Core State Standards, developmentally appropriate practice, integration, differentiated instruction practices, and formative and summative assessments. Students participate in the development and peer teaching of a Biblical Worldview lesson, as well as in the student’s content/subject area for both middle level and high school students. Second semester.
