SPE 480 - Characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorders


An overview of the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including a historical and legal overview of the diagnosis and treatments. Students consider IEP development and special education policies that support communication issues and educational adaptations. In addition, students identify appropriate diagnostic tools and procedures. A 10-hour field experiences is required. First semester.
