MTE 616 - Mathematics in the Middle School

A course that introduces the students to the teaching of mathematics based on curricula that reflect The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the Pennsylvania Department of Education Academic Standards for Mathematics, current best practices, and the characteristics of middle school students. The emphasis is on conceptual development and problem solving. This lab course meets three times a week for two credits. Second semester.
