The Social Service Interdisciplinary program is designed for the student who is interested in helping others but is not ready to make the commitment to be a professional social worker. It is also well suited for those who plan to work in the general context of the helping ministries of the local church. The Interdisciplinary program includes the first four courses in the social work professional sequence, one social work elective, and five additional professional elective courses, chosen in consultation with departmental faculty. The four required courses are Social Work Basics, Human and Cultural Diversity, Social Work Experience, and Social Work Organizations. Upon successful completion of the program, the student earns a B.S. in Bible degree. This program is not accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
