English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language (ESL) prepares the student to teach English as a second language in various contexts, focusing on local PK-12 schools. For education students in a certification program, completion of the requirements can lead to the add-on English as a Second Language (ESL) Program Specialist PK-12 certificate from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
