M.S. in Christian Counseling

Upon completion of this program, a student recieves an M.S. in Christian Counseling degree.

Program Requirements - Total Credits: 48


Electives - Credits: 4


Choose one course from each of the specialization tracks listed below.

  • Professional Counseling Elective Credits: 2
  • Marriage and Family Counseling Elective Credits: 2
  • Specialization Track in Professional Counseling


    The MSCC degree can be extended to 60 credits by completing 12 credits of elective courses in Professional Counseling. This is recommended for students who are preparing for specialized ministry. This track is designed to give advanced training to students who are preparing for positions that specialize in professional and/or clinical settings and who may desire to seek professional licensing or certification. Completion of this degree program does not guarantee that licensing or certification will be granted by psychological associations or governing agencies.

    Specialization Track in Marriage and Family Counseling


    The MSCC degree can be extended to 60 credits by completing 12 credits of elective courses in Marriage and Family Counseling. This is recommended for students who are preparing for specialized ministry. This track is designed to give advanced training to students who are preparing for positions that specialize in providing leadership, counseling, guidance, and training in family living. It is the recommended track for students who are preparing to serve as marriage and family specialists in churches, ministry organizations, social services institutions, or counseling centers. Completion of this degree program does not guarantee that licensing or certification will be granted by psychological associations or governing agencies. 

    Bible/Doctrine Courses - Credits: 12


    Select four courses.

    Advance standing may be granted for Bible/Doctrine credits earned at an accredited Bible college, Christian liberal arts college or university, or seminary. Credits will be granted on a course-by-course basis.
