Discipleship Counseling

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Majors & Programs

The Discipleship Counseling program is primarily for students desiring a counseling ministry in or through the local church. This program may also serve as a base for more advanced training in pastoral and professional counseling ministries. Upon completion of the program, the student receives a B.S. in Bible degree.

A study in Discipleship Counseling is useful for students desiring to obtain self-understanding; an understanding of human behavior; the background and skills needed for intervention work with individuals, families and groups; the process of spiritual growth; and the interpersonal skills needed to facilitate discipleship and mentoring in the local church. Preparation for some career opportunities in the helping and caring professions may be better served through other programs.
